Quality Teaching Staff is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expects all staff supplied for employment to share this commitment.
QTS strictly adheres to the recruitment and vetting checks that must be carried out on all people who work with children and young people. These requirements are incorporated into QTS compliance and vetting procedure as specified by the DfE Safeguarding and Safer Recruitment in Education document.
All our Candidates are subjected to rigorous checks, including:
- Referee details to undertake professional references covering a minimum of two years
- An enhanced DBS disclosure
- A full ten-year employment history with no gaps
- Proof of identity
- Proof of address using DBS list of acceptable documents
- Entitlement to work in the UK
- Original qualifications documents checked
- Visa requirements (where applicable)
- Overseas police check (where applicable)
We then carry out a:
- QTS check (where applicable)
- NQT induction status (where applicable) via the TRA website
- Prohibition and sanctions check via the TRA website
- A self declaration of fitness to work
- A disqualification by association declaration (when applicable)

Candidates must also give consent for information to be passed to any school or local authority for Single Central Records, and undergo mandatory safeguarding training prior to being cleared for work.
